Trademark Class List Banner

Your brand is your identity. It’s the symbol of your hard work, creativity, and the trust you’ve built with your customers. Protecting that identity through trademark registration is crucial. But before you embark on that journey, understanding the trademark class list system in India is essential.

What is a Trademark Class?

Imagine a giant filing cabinet with sections dedicated to different types of products and services. The trademark classification list functions similarly. There are 45 trademark class list for trademark categories, with the first 34 trademark class for goods and the remaining 11 trademark class for services. Each trademark class categories similar products or services, making the trademark registration process more streamlined.

Why is Choosing the Right TM Class Important?

Choosing the right TM class is essential for trademark registration in India. If you choose the wrong trademark class list, your trademark application may be rejected.

  • Accuracy: Selecting the correct class ensures your trademark is examined against relevant applications.
  • Cost-effectiveness: You only pay the fee applicable to the chosen class(es). Filing in multiple classes might incur additional charges.
  • Protection Scope: Your trademark protection extends to the goods/services listed within your chosen class.
